Position Info:

• Position: Sushi Chef
• Terms of employment: Full-time, Permanent
• Wage: $18.38~$21.00/hour (depending on experience)
• Working Hours: 30-40 hours/week
• Number of Positions:  1
• Work Location: A-1221 7th Avenue, Fernie, BC, V0B 1M0

Job Duties:

• Prepare and cook all types of sushi and other Japanese foods, including sashimi, nigiri, and sushi roll
• Plan and direct food preparation and cooking activities
• Maintain inventory and keep a record of food costs, consumption, and sales
• Plan menus and ensure all food meets quality standards
• Estimate food requirements and costs and order ingredients and kitchen supplies
• Supervise the activities of cooks and kitchen assistants
• Train kitchen staff in food preparation, cooking, and presentation
• Involve in hiring new kitchen staff
• May plan menus and create new recipes

Job requirements:

• Experience: 2~3 years of commercial cooking experience as a chef are required
• Education: Completion of Secondary School is required
• Language: English
