8Mile Pizza is looking for a Specialist Chef, with previous experience working in a Detroit style pizza establishment. We seek candidates who are creative, energetic, and dedicated to providing our customers and staff with the best possible experience. This role is for individuals who can work in a fastpaced environment and are receptive to quick changes and demands. o Plan and supervise cooking and preparatory production of food items across all 8Mile Pizza locations.
o Assure all food preparation and cooking meets health and safety standards as well as 8Mile Pizza quality standards.
o Estimate and create purchase orders for food requirements.
o Estimate and assure adherence to food cost and back of house labour cost budgets.
o Supervise activities of all line cooks and kitchen supervisors.
o Arrange for periodic equipment maintenance and emergency repairs.
o Recruit and hire back of house staff.
o Prepare and cook menu components with proprietary recipes.
o Innovate in the continuous development of menu items.
Communicate with management across all locations.
QUALIFICATIONS & KEY ATTRIBUTES
o Diploma in Culinary Management required.
o At least one year of experience working at a restaurant specialising in Detroit Style pizza required.
o Previous experience in dough making required, previous experience in Detroit Style dough making preferred.
o At least one year of kitchen management experience required.
o Advanced food handling and preparation knowledge.
o Works well under high pressure and order volume.
o Excellent communication skills, both writing and speaking.
o Food Handler Certification required.
