Position: Sous Chef
Number of job vacancies: 2
Working Hours: 40hrs per week, 5 days a week
Wage: $19~$22 per hour
Job Type: Full-time, Permanent

Fishworks Restaurant is located at Lonsdale Quay, North Vancouver BC and is offering stylish and sustainable seafood plus local & international wines. This Lonsdale restaurant scene is in need of a seafood restaurant that utilizes the bounty of fresh seafood from our unique west coast. Fishworks restaurant features timeless classics as well as contemporary and modern cuisine.
Main duties
- Supervise, co-ordinate, monitor and schedule the activities of specialist chefs, chefs cooks and other kitchen staff
- Demonstrate new cooking techniques and new equipment to cooking staff
- May plan menus and acquire food and kitchen supplies
- May prepare and cook meals or specialty foods
- Other duties as assigned by an executive chef
Requirements/Education
- Completion of secondary school is required
- Cook’s trade certification or equivalent credentials, training and experience are required
OR
- At least 2~3 years of work experience in commercial food preparation
- Supervisory experience is an asset
- English is a mandatory
- Excellent communication and organizational skills
- Be able to work under pressure and work in a fast-paced environment
- Time management and decision-making skills are required
