Position: Sous Chef

Number of job vacancies: 2

Working Hours: 40hrs per week, 5 days a week

Wage: $19~$22 per hour

Job Type: Full-time, Permanent

Benefits: Group Medical Insurance after 3 months of probation

Fishworks Restaurant is located at Lonsdale Quay, North Vancouver BC and is offering stylish and sustainable seafood plus local & international wines. This Lonsdale restaurant scene is in need of a seafood restaurant that utilizes the bounty of fresh seafood from our unique west coast. Fishworks restaurant features timeless classics as well as contemporary and modern cuisine.

 

Main duties

  • Supervise, co-ordinate, monitor and schedule the activities of specialist chefs, chefs cooks and other kitchen staff
  • Demonstrate new cooking techniques and new equipment to cooking staff
  • May plan menus and acquire food and kitchen supplies
  • May prepare and cook meals or specialty foods
  • Other duties as assigned by an executive chef

 

Requirements/Education

  • Completion of secondary school is required
  • Cook’s trade certification or equivalent credentials, training and experience are required

OR

  • At least 2~3 years of work experience in commercial food preparation
  • Supervisory experience is an asset
  • English is a mandatory
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills
  • Be able to work under pressure and work in a fast-paced environment
  • Time management and decision-making skills are required
