Employer and Location: GL PRO Inc. is seeking one experienced full-time roof and shingle installer to complete commercial and residential projects at various locations in the city of Calgary.

Position and Title: Roofer and Shingler

Job Type: Permanent, Full-time Position

Positions Available: 1

Languages: English

Education: No Degree, Certificate or Diploma

Experience: 1 to less than 7 months of experience

Area of Specialization: Flat Roofing; Shingles  

Weight Handling: Up to 45 kg (100 lbs)

Work Site Environment: Dangerous; Outdoors; At heights; Dusty

Work Conditions and Physical Capabilities: Repetitive tasks; Handling heavy loads; Physically demanding; Hand-eye co-ordination; Bending, crouching, kneeling, large work-load

Personal Suitability: Team player; excellent oral communication; client focused; dependable; reliable  

Terms of Employment:

• $28.00 per hour
• Full-time 40 hours per week, overtime as required 
• 6% vacation pay

Roofer Specific Skills:

• Install, repair or replace single-ply membrane roofing system using waterproof sheet materials such as modified plastics, elastomeric or other asphaltic compositions
• Install, repair or replace shingles, shakes and other roofing tiles on sloped roofs of buildings
• Install sheet metal flashings
• Install and repair metal roofs using hand and power tools
• Set up scaffolding to provide safe access to roofs
• Follow safety procedures to ensure work is complete and according to health & safety regulations

Shingler Specific Skills

• Install or replace asphalt shingles, wood shingles and shakes on sloped roofs of buildings
