Job Title: Painter (NOC: 73112)

Employer: MAJ Contractor Inc.

Location: 3281 Albina St. Saanich, BC V8Z 3X3

Wage: $24 per hour for 40 hours a week

Vacancy:  3 vacancies

Job Requirements:

Languages

• English

Education

·       Minimum: Secondary (high) school graduation certificate

·       Trade certificate for painters is an asset.

Experience

• At least 2 years to less than 3 years of work experience as a painter

Duties:

·      Mixes colors or oils to obtain desired color or consistency.

·      Moves necessary materials around jobsite as assigned

·      Cleans up worksite debris

·      Applies paints, sealer and solvents to exterior and interior building surfaces such as plaster, concrete and wood

·      Protect nearby items or furnishing before and during every job, including outlet covers, landscaping, lighting fixtures, cabinetry and carpets.

·      Prepare, clean and sand surfaces to be painted

·      Advice consumers on colours and choice of wall coverings.

·      Estimate costs and materials

·      Airless spray equipment

·      Brush painting

·      Conventional spray painting

·      Patterned rollers

·      Roller painting

Work Conditions

·      Attention to detail, hand-eye coordination, ability to distinguish between colors, bending, crouching, kneeling, physically demanding.
