Hyalos Inc. is seeking a Full Time, Permanent Position for Optical Laboratory Technician [NOC 3414]

The job requirements are:
• Lens marking and verification
• Edging of lenses using various edging machines, including grooved and drill mounted lenses.
• Mounting of lenses into frames including semi rimless and rimless frames.
• Perform machine calibration
• Evaluate the best position of the bevel in conformity with the strengths and curvature of the lenses
• Perform the final control of orders respecting lab quality standards
• Have the final decision on whether jobs are passing QC
• Give technical support to the team and customers
• Ensure all jobs are going out within a reasonable time
• Communicating directly with clients when required
• Receiving duties for new lens shipments
• Assisting in putting stock away. Secondary
• Ensure lab is clean and presentable
• Assist team members when required
• Technical Advice on incoming orders
• Incoming and Outgoing Lens/Frame Quality Control
• Communication with team leaders in other departments
• Become totally familiar with the Lab Management System software.
Employment requirements;
• Previous experience 2 [TWO] years or more edging experience ;
• Must have complete knowledge of types of lenses,
• Completion of Secondary School;
• Proficiency in English including speaking and writing component required;
• Ability to use manual lensometer and different edging machines;
• This is a high pressure job and requires commitment from the candidate.

This position is full time, 9am-5pm, Mon-Fri [40 hours per week]. Applicant may be required to work on weekends and evenings as per work demand. Benefits after 3 months ; -extended health is offered at 50% copay. - Two weeks’ vacation annually. Overtime is 1.5 X basic wages Candidate must be willing to work independently and manage work with a high level of accuracy, have excellent interpersonal skills and display a high level of professionalism.
