Nurse Aide

Job Title: Nurse Aide (NOC: 3413)

Employer: Residence De L’harmonie

Location:  106 Rue Providence, Shediac, NB E4P 2N1

Wage: 15.00 /hr for 40 hrs per week

Vacancy:  10 vacancies

Terms of employment: Full time, permanent

Start Date: as soon as possible

Job Requirements:

Languages

• English or French

Education

• Completion of secondary education

Experience

·       At least 1 year to 2 years of work experience as nurse aide or any related health occupation or field.

Duties:

·       Responding to patient calls immediately

·       Alerting medical staff in case of a complicated case or an emergency

·       Maintaining the health and well-being of a patient

·       Providing physical and emotional support to patients

·       Preparing them for physical examinations, laboratory tests and medical visits.

·       Transport patients in wheelchair or stretcher

·        Take patients' blood pressure, temperature and pulse

·        Bathe, dress and groom patients

·       Answer call signals

·       Weigh, lift, turn and position patients

·       Administer first aid in emergency situations

·       Accompany patients on outside recreational activities and perform other duties related to patient care and comfort

·       Serve meal trays and feed patients

·       Make beds and maintain patients' rooms

·       Maintain inventory of supplies

·       Supply and empty bed pans

·       Assist with the set-up and maintenance of traction equipment, cleaning or sterilizing equipment, maintaining and repairing equipment, and assembling, setting-up and operating job-related equipment

·       Deliver messages, reports, requisitions and specimens between departments;

·       Transport patients between care facilities
