JOB REQUIREMENTS:

LANGUAGES: ENGLISH OR FRENCH

EDUCATION: SECONDARY (HIGH) SCHOOL GRADUATE CERTIFICATE

EXPERIENCE: 1 YEAR TO LESS THAN 2 YEARS AND EXPERIENCE IS AN ASSET

WORK SETTING: FISH PLANT

 

WORKING ENVIRONMENT: NOISY, ODOURS, COLD, DUSTY, HOT, COLD AND REFRIGERATED AND WET/DAMP

 

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  1. TRAIN STAFF/WORKERS IN JOB DUTIES, SAFETY PROCEDURES AND COMPANY POLICIES
  2. RECOMMEND PERSONNEL ACTIONS SUCH AS HIRING AND PROMOTIONS
  3. PREPARE PRODUCTION AND OTHER REPORTS
  4. RECOMMEND MEASURES TO IMPROVE PRODUCTIVITY AND PRODUCT QUALITY
  5. SUPERVISE, CO-ORDINATE AND SCHEDULE (AND POSSIBLY REVIEW) ACTIVITIES OF WORKERS
  6. ESTABLISH METHODS TO MEET WORK SCHEDULES AND CO-ORDINATE WORK ACTIVITIES WITH OTHER WORK UNITS
  7. IDENTIFY, EVALUATE, CONTROL, AND PREVENT HAZARDS AT ALL STAGES OF THE FOOD PRODUCTION PROCESS
  8. REQUISITION OR ORDER OF MATERIALS, EQUIPMENT AND SUPPLIES.

 

SUPERVISION: 16-20 PEOPLE, STAFF IN VARIOUS AREAS OF RESPONSIBILITY, LABOURERS IN FISH PROCESSING

CREDENTIALS: CERTIFICATES, LICENCES, MEMBERSHIPS, AND COURSES HAZARD ANALYSIS AND CRITICAL CONTROL POINTS(HACCP) CERTIFICATION, KNOWLEDGE OF PREVENTIVE MAINTENANCE OF MACHINERY AND EQUIPMENT

 

PERSONAL SUITABILITY: EFFICIENT INTERPERSONAL SKILLS, FLEXIBILITY, TEAM PLAYER, VALUES AND ETHICS, ORGANIZED and RELIABILITY

OWN TOOLS/EQUIPMENT: STEEL-TOED SAFETY BOOTS AND SAFETY GLASSES/GOGGLES
