Johnston’s meat processing plant (Johnston Packers (1995) Ltd.), located at 5828 Promontory Rd. in Chilliwack, BC, V2R 4M4 is looking for 15 experienced Meatcutters/Butchers for FT perm. position. Mon-Fri, no wknds or nights. Hourly wages $23.70 to $24.71, 40h/week. Other benefits as per Collective Agreement: medical and dental benefits, disability, life insurance, group insurance, RRSP, vision care.
Duties: Slaughter livestock and remove viscera and other inedible parts from carcasses. Cut pork carcasses or sides or quarters of cracasses into primal cuts for further cutting, processing or packaging, cut, trim, and prepare meats into specific cuts for institutional, commericial or other wholesale use, remove bones from meat. Work in refrigerated area.
Essential skills: Knife skills. Oral communication in English. Working with others, job task planning and organizing, continuous learning.
Experience and Education: Minimum 1 year of experience. Completion of high school or equivalent.
