Working Hours: 35~40hr/week, 5 days a week, may have to work overtime if needed

Wage: $20.50~$22.50 per hour (depending on experience)

Jam Café is an all-day breakfast and lunch cafe located in Vancouver. The original Jam opened in Victoria in the spring of 2012 and was immediately embraced by the City and its dining community.  As the popularity of Jam grew, we knew that we needed to expand our operations and in early 2016 we opened our second venue in downtown Vancouver on Beatty.  This was followed by our 3rd and newest addition, Jam Café Kitsilano, in the fall of 2018.

 

Inspired by recipes from the south, like our house made cornbread, buttermilk biscuits and fried chicken, we wanted to create a menu of comfort fare in a rustic-city atmosphere. Our menu also includes a collection of family home style recipes that have been shared and passed down over generations and we’ve been very proud to be able to add these to Jam’s unique and eclectic menu. Jam Café has options that can satisfy the most discerning of appetites.

 

Main duties

 

  • Prepare and cook our meals on menu such as various salads, vegetables, omelette, pancakes, waffles, eggs benedict and sandwiches
  • May plan menus and determine food portions size
  • Make sure food quality meets standard
  • Oversee kitchen operations
  • Supervise kitchen staffs and train them if needed
  • May clean kitchen and work area
  • Other related duties and responsibilities as assigned

Employment Requirements

 

  • You have a passion for food
  • You have experience in the kitchen but are hungry to learn more and develop your skills
  • You’re a team-player and a great communicator
  • You enjoy working with premium, local ingredients
  • You have at least 2 years of experience in high-volume kitchen
