Position: Line Cook

Number of job vacancies: 2

Working Hours: 35~40hrs per week, 5 days a week (Tue to Sat)

Wage: $18 per hour

Job Type: Full-time, Permanent

Benefits: 4% of vacation pay

Overlooking the waters of Horseshoe Bay, Olive & Anchor offers casual, great value dining for lunch and dinner served in a relaxed atmosphere by friendly and personable staff

Main duties

• Prepare and cook complete meals or individual dishes and foods
• Schedule and supervise kitchen helpers
• Oversee kitchen operations
• Maintain inventory and records of food, supplies and equipment
• May clean kitchen and work area
• May plan menus, determine size of food portions, estimate food requirements and costs, and monitor and order supplies
• May hire and train kitchen staff

Requirements/Education

• Completion of secondary school is required
• Completion of a three-year apprenticeship program for cooks or completion of college or other program in cooking or food safety OR two years of commercial cooking experience is required
• Supervisory experience is an asset
• English is a mandatory
• Excellent communication and organizational skills
• Be able to work under pressure and work in a fast-paced environment
• Time management and decision-making skills are required
