Position: Line Cook

Working Hours: 40hrs per week, 5 days a week, may have to work overtime if needed

Work Shift: It can be daytime, evening, weekends and/or holidays

Wage: $18.00 per hour

Vacation Pay Rate: 4%

Main duties

 

  • Prepare and cook complete meals or individual dishes and foods;
  • Plan restaurant menus, determine size of food portions, estimate food requirements and costs;
  • Monitor and order supplies, inspect kitchens and food services areas;
  • Ensuring that food portions and food presentation meet company standards;
  • Assisting other cooks in the restaurant to verify that food orders are completed on time;
  • Ensuring that food safety and health standards are adhered to;
  • Train staff in preparation, cooking and handling of food;
  • Maintain inventory and records of food, supplies and equipment

 

Employment Requirements

  • Minimum 2 year of commercial cooking experience
  • English is required
  • Be able to work under pressure and work in a fast-paced environment
  • Completion of secondary school
