Description

We are looking for a caregiver (Home Support Worker (NOC 4412/44101)) for our disabled mother who is affected with paralysis due to the stroke. She is 66 years of age and is incapable of doing daily tasks and need help for medication distribution, showering, cleaning and preparing special diet meals etc.

Below are the relative duties of this job category:

Home support workers provide personal care and companionship for seniors, persons with disabilities and convalescent clients. Care is provided within the client's residence. They are employed by home care and support agencies, private households, or they may be self-employed. They may also perform housekeeping and other home management duties in private households and other non-institutional, residential settings.

• Provide care and companionship for individuals and families during periods of incapacitation, convalescence
• Administer bedside and personal care to clients such as aid in ambulation, bathing, personal hygiene, and dressing and undressing
• Plan and prepare meals and special diets, and feed or assist in feeding clients
• May perform routine health-related duties such as changing non-sterile dressings, assisting in the administration of medications, and collecting specimens under the general direction of home care agency supervisor or nurse
• Assist the nurse who comes to perform above mentioned duties
• May perform routine housekeeping duties such as laundry, washing dishes and making beds.

• Supervise the individual in the absence of the guardian
• Take her or assist the guardian taking her to the doctors’ appointments and hospital appointments
• Taking her to the park for walks or to the recreational centre for recreational activities

Pay Scale: $20.00-21.00 per hour

Work hours: Full time: 30-35 hours per week, overtime if needed.

Vacation pay: 10 days of paid vacation or 4% vacation pay numeration

Starting date:  As soon as possible (Priority will be given to Canadians)

Language: English language is essential for this job

Medical: Medical insurance until covered by the provincial health care system will be provide

Willing to pay relocation expenses for outside province/country applicants
