Job description: This company is looking for one full time, permanent General Manager-Operations to join their team.
Job duties:
- Develop strategies to achieve organizational goals and understand the organization's strengths & weaknesses. Analyze the transport sector and competition to identify external threats and opportunities and adapt strategy to changing conditions.
- Monitor and streamline transportation processes by setting operational variables and monitoring control points and equipment. Supervise staff and resources to enhance efficiency and reduce costs, and establish reporting procedures to address and resolve operational issues.
- Authorize and supervise the establishment of essential departments and the appointment of senior staff.
- Represent the company in negotiations and official matters, or appoint representatives to act on behalf of the company.
- Responsible for ensuring cohesion in operations across regions, divisions, or departments in the organization.
- Address and resolve operational challenges such as declining profits, competitive pressures, and customer dissatisfaction with effective solutions.
- Track changing market trends in the transportation sector, and establish, and optimize procurement, and information systems to align with such trends.
- Develop and accomplish goals and strategic plans in pursuance of increased operational efficiency. Develop, communicate and implement effective growth strategies and processes for all stakeholders in the organization.
- Forecast goals and objectives for the key departments and strive to help the team meet these. Establish key performance indicators to assist in measuring the health of the organization.
- Monitor department operations and client concerns to define patterns and work to improve efficiency. Prioritize workflow to meet customer deliverables.
- Conduct regular audits of operational processes and customer service to ensure compliance with industry standards and company policies
- Maintain regulatory compliance by ensuring production follows SOPs and maintains proper records.
- Foster a collaborative environment within and between departments to enhance teamwork and operational effectiveness across the organization.
Job Requirements:
- University Degree in business administration or finance.
- Minimum 3-4 Years of experience is required.
- Excellent communication skills (written and verbal) coupled with strong interpersonal skills; ability to work with a variety of personalities in a dynamic environment.
