Description

Industrial galvanizer operate and tend machines and equipment to apply zinc to protect surfaces of various metal products. Metal finishing process operators operate machines or equipment to deposit metallized substances on workpieces and surfaces to provide decorative, protective and restorative coatings. These workers are employed by manufacturing companies and custom refinishing, coating and plating shops.

Position: Industrial Galvanizer

• Ensure that material meets and/or exceeds requirements and is vented properly as per ASTM A123/A123M and AGA Association
• Unprocessed goods to be checked for drainage/venting and inspects final good material for text, drips, bare areas and sharp edges
• Ensure material/steel is free of any excess zinc and all impurities by immersing metal into caustic and Hydrochloric Acid tanks
• Material is to be free of kettle skimming’s, including ash and zinc inclusions.
• Must ensure that material is ready for the galvanizing process
• Surroundings kettle area is clear from zinc particles
• Ensure kettle dip sheet is filled out accurately
• Confers with leads and/or supervisors to report material conditions that could result in production or customer problems
• Operate or tend equipment to clean, degrease and pickle metal/steel material
• Ensure there is always material to be dipped
• Assist and Direct riggers with specific guidelines that have to be met to obtain the highest quality material and operate equipment to polish metallic surfaces of products as per Quality Department requirements
• Ensure riggers are working in an efficient manner to support kettle output
• Be responsible at all times by following H&S policies  and OH&SA and Regulations
• Pay Rate: Starting from $19.00
• Wage Revision as follows: after 3 months: $19.85, after 1 year: $20.35, after 2 years: $22.53, after 3 years: $24.86
