Position: Food Service supervisor
Work Hours: 34 – 40 hours per week
Wage: $15 – $17/hour (overtime after 40 hours of work per week)
Job Type: Full-time, Permanent
Start date: ASAP
Benefits: 4% Vacation pay and extended health benefit
Work Location: 488 Robson St, Vancouver, BC V6B 2B7
Key duties and Responsibilities
• Supervise, organize, and schedule the activities of staff
• Supervise food preparation
• Control cost and manage inventory
• Estimate and order of material and supplies
• Maintain records of stock, repairs, sales and wastage
• Solve work problems and recommend work measures to upgrade productivity
• Ensure that food and service meet quality control standards
• Hiring, training, and motivating staff
• Make production preparations and reports
• Train staff in sanitation, safety procedures and job duties in customer service roles and cashiers
• Customer interaction
• Could participate in the food service staff selection
Requirements/Education and other requirements
• Completion of secondary school is required
• Completion of a community college program in food service administration, or several years of experience in food preparation/food safety or customer service are required.
• Knowledge of food preparation/safety
• High initiative and high energy
• Demonstrated leadership
• Strong organization and time management skills
