Food Service Supervisor

Pizza Garden UBC is hiring for an experienced full-time, permanent (35 hr/week) Food Service Supervisor. Located at UBC’s Point Grey campus, the Food Service Supervisor will manage a team during the busy evening and late-night hours. This position will have you supervise staff, train new team members and make important decisions around staffing and budgeting. 

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Supervise, co-ordinate and schedule store staff
• Direct and take full responsibility during shift
• Estimate and maintain ingredients for daily dough and topping preparation
• Maintain stock, food hygiene and sales
• Train new team members and maintain procedures and policies
• Ensure that food and service meet company standards
• Plan and suggest new menu items for store
• Assist in preparing promotions
• Develop budgets and calculate related costs and expenses

Experience and Education

• Post-Secondary education in food service administration, hospitality or restaurant management or related discipline and/or a minimum of 2 years in a similar setting
• Strong interpersonal & leadership skills
• Minimum high school diploma
• English speaking
• Ability to work on a flexible schedule, with majority of hours being nights and weekends

Remuneration:

• $18.50 per hour 
• 4% remuneration in lieu of paid vacation
