Education: Completion of a college or other program related to hospitality or food and beverage service management

Work Experience: 3 years or more experience in managerial position in food industry

Job Duties:

  • Plan, organize, direct, control and evaluate the operations of a restaurant and bar
  • Determine type of services to be offered and implement operational procedures
  • Recruit staff and oversee staff training
  • Set staff work schedules and monitor staff performance
  • Control inventory, monitor revenues and modify procedures and prices
  • Resolve customer complaints and ensure health and safety regulations are followed
  • Negotiate arrangements with suppliers for food and other supplies
  • Negotiate arrangements with clients for catering or use of facilities for banquets or receptions.
  •  Be diplomatic in facilitating a smooth flow of quality beverage service by anticipating challenges
  • Posses superior technical beverage service and sales skills, acquired as a result of training, seminars and experience
  • Contribute to the development and modification of outside sales, marketing campaigns and specials
  • Responsible for purchasing beverage service supplies, periodically solicit bids from outside services, recommending selection of the most cost-effective contractors, and signs contracts for outside services

Job Requirements:

  • Must have high degree of computer literacy
  • Demonstrated proficiency in written/oral communication
  • Creativity and Innovative Thinking is required
  • Decision Making and Judgment is valued
  • Ability to establish priorities, work independently, problem solve and proceed with objectives without supervision
  • Must be alert and resourceful and be able to interact with a cross section of individuals
  • Must be able to demonstrate patience and perseverance, and embrace change when it occurs

  • Should possess excellent coaching and mentoring skills
