Education: Completion of a college or other program related to hospitality or food and beverage service management
Work Experience: 3 years or more experience in managerial position in food industry
Job Duties:
- Plan, organize, direct, control and evaluate the operations of a restaurant and bar
- Determine type of services to be offered and implement operational procedures
- Recruit staff and oversee staff training
- Set staff work schedules and monitor staff performance
- Control inventory, monitor revenues and modify procedures and prices
- Resolve customer complaints and ensure health and safety regulations are followed
- Negotiate arrangements with suppliers for food and other supplies
- Negotiate arrangements with clients for catering or use of facilities for banquets or receptions.
- Be diplomatic in facilitating a smooth flow of quality beverage service by anticipating challenges
- Posses superior technical beverage service and sales skills, acquired as a result of training, seminars and experience
- Contribute to the development and modification of outside sales, marketing campaigns and specials
- Responsible for purchasing beverage service supplies, periodically solicit bids from outside services, recommending selection of the most cost-effective contractors, and signs contracts for outside services
