Responsibilities
Tasks

1. Inspect, measure and mark surfaces to be covered
2. Measure, cut and fasten underlay and underpadding
3. Prepare flooring plans and scheduling
4. Measure, cut and install carpeting on floors
5. Prepare tenders and quotations
6. Measure, cut and install resilient floor coverings
7. Prepare and install hardwood floors
8. Inspect and repair damaged floor coverings
9. Conduct moisture, ph, temperature and other tests prior to flooring installations
10. Estimate costs and materials
11. Prepare floors for installations
12. Remove existing floor coverings and contaminants
13. Install carpeting on walls or other surfaces
14. Employ knee kickers and other equipment to stretch carpeting
15. Perform direct glue-down carpet installations
16. Perform double-bond carpet installations
17. Install outdoor carpets
18. Install resilient stair components (special effects for the visually impaired)
19. Install materials on counter tops and raised platforms
20. Install vinyl decking materials
21. Read and interpret blueprints, maps, drawings and specifications
