T&J Rise Up Enterprise Ltd. DBA Sushi Gio in Langley, BC is looking for Experienced Full-time, Permanent First Cook.

Conditions

• Position: First Cook (Full-Time, Permanent position)
• Wage: $22.00 – $26.00/hour (wage to be determined depend on experience and skills)
• Working Hours: 40 hours/week (8 hours/day, 5 days/week)
• Ability to do shift work (daytime, evenings, weekends and holidays)
• Vacation: 10 days paid holidays per year or 4% gross salary
• Positions available: 1

Requirements

• Completion of secondary school
• 3 years or more commercial cooking experience as a Cook
• Applicants from other provinces will also be considered
• Language: English

Main duties

• Prepare and cook complete Japanese food from the menu such as sashimi, nigiri sushi, special torched sushi, roll sushi etc  
• Handle raw fish and make fish fillets
• Plan menus, determine size of food portions and estimate food requirements and costs.
• Supervise and train kitchen staffs.
• Ensure all food items are prepared and served according to established standards and practices.
• Schedule and assign duties to kitchen staffs.
• Monitor and order supplies and equipment.
• Oversee kitchen operations and clean kitchen and work area.
• May participate in recruiting and hiring kitchen staff.
