Term:               Full time/40 hours/week/Permanent

Salary:             $17.00- $20.00/hour depending on experience + tips

NOC:                63200 – Cooks

Vacation:         2 weeks’ vacation pay (4% of earnings)

Language(s):   Ability to communicate in English is required

Duties and Responsibilities

As a First Cook, key responsibilities will include:

  • Prepare and cook complete meals or individual dishes and foods
  • Plan menus, determine size and food portions, estimate food requirements and costs, and monitor and order supplies
  • Train staff in preparation, cooking and handling of food
  • Maintain inventory and records of food, supplies and equipment
  • Clean kitchen and work areas
  • Following daily tasks and routines outlined by your Sous Chefs + Head Chef
  • Assisting your fellow partners in maintaining a clean and safe working environment

 

General Requirements

  • Minimum 2 years of kitchen experience
  • Secondary (High) School Diploma
  • Food Safe Certificate
  • Minimum 3 months of experience working with knives, combi ovens, deep fryers or open burners is required
  • Ability to work with urgency in a fast-paced environment
  • Keen eye for detail with cleanliness and food quality
  • Great communication skills
