F/T Cook (Thai Food) (1215 Thurlow Street, Vancouver)

Thai Basil Restaurant Ltd. (Thai Basil Restaurant) is seeking a fulltime Cook (Thai Food) at its Downtown location.

Job Description/Duties:

• Prepare and cook complete authentic Thai food
• Supervise kitchen helpers in preparation and handling of food
• Ensure quality of food and determine size of food portions
• Inspect kitchen and food service areas
• Monitor food stocks and kitchen supplies
• Participate in planning menus and daily special in a team
• May train new kitchen staffs

Education:

• Completion of secondary school

Skills and Experience:

• 2 to 3 years of work experience in cooking in the commercial kitchen is required
• One year of commercial cooking experience as Thai Food Cook at a Thai restaurant is required
• Ability to perform all the above duties

Language:

• Communication skills in English

Compensation:

• $17.75/hour, 40hrs/week, 4% vacation pay
• Overtimes are paid at 1,5 rate for hours exceeding 40 hours in any given week
