MAIN JOB DUTIES

Strategy & Planning


Participate in key decisions as a member of the senior leadership team

Assist in formulating the company's future direction and supporting tactical initiatives

Collaborate in developing strategies that assist in delivering meaningful learning experiences and optimizing funder requirements that have a direct impact on strategic business plans

Develop and manage reporting tools for management and board meetings

Research and evaluate strategic opportunities for the organization

Articulate and synthesize information to key points for management presentations, and for strategic/operational decision making

Plan and manage budgets for client projects and internal proprietary product development

Establish objectives for the organization and formulate or approve policies and programs, Represent the organization, or delegate representatives to act on behalf of the organization, in negotiations or other official functions,

Allocate material, human and financial resources to implement organizational policies and programs

People Management

Authorize and organize the establishment of major departments and associated senior staff positions

Delegate the necessary authority to them and create optimum working conditions

Select middle managers, directors or other executive staff

Provide strategic direction, coaching and support for people managers on the Design and Development team via providing guidance on day-to-day issues and insights into complex business transactions.

Provide ongoing and clear direction, performance management and career development support to the Program Design and Development team

Manage all Design & Development team member needs (hire through retire) and ensure that each of your team members has reasonable support, resources, tools and guidance to be happy and successful within their roles

Lead team communication strategy by facilitating regular team meetings, one-on-one meetings, update emails, etc.

Content Development And Project Oversight

Overall responsibility for the learning management ecosystem (LMS) including system, people, security, and course and content management.

Lead the needs analysis process, provide appropriate solutions and design, develop and deliver a variety of learning initiatives, projects and development programs.

Implement effective instructional design solutions and adult learning methodologies

Conduct in-depth research on current industry issues, trends and best practices to provide a basis for content development, and to support Third Power key priorities and initiatives.

Oversee designated curriculum and course development projects and ensure the timely and successful launch of high-quality programming.

Ensures that the work of Instructional Designers and Developers maintains the integrity of the initial design blueprints, the design values of Third Power, and the established timelines for the project.

Training Delivery & Evaluation

Ensures consistency in the delivery and application of training standards across the business and oversees the planning, prioritization, and development of new training programs and initiatives, ensuring that these programs and initiatives are consistent with the business’s overall strategies, objectives, and needs.

Conducts research, approves, and makes further recommendations for appropriate learning management systems and databases. The COO additionally develops, implements, monitors, and maintains both initial and ongoing training programs across the business. Ensure the training program covers the need of the learner and that desired Required Skills

Strategic thinking, influencing, and people management skills

Demonstrated strong leadership, coaching and team-building skills to foster and motivate staff to implement the company’s mission and strategic direction

Ability to organize and prioritize the allocation of financial and human resources to implement policies and programs

Demonstrated experience working in startups

Experience writing and implementing new processes in a growing organization

Ability to organize and prioritize work; manage multiple tasks and projects; and function effectively as a self-directed leader of multiple strategic initiatives

Ability to speak intelligently about the learning industry

Excellent client-facing skills and ability to represent the company in conferences, trade-shows and negotiations with clients

Experience with end-to-end training development

Knowledge of adult learning theory, instructional design techniques, and demonstrated the application of this knowledge in program development and delivery

Knowledge of the principles and practices for accessible online, blended, and technology-enabled teaching

Knowledge of learning technology, such as D2L’s Brightspace, Articulate 360, Vyond, Web delivery technologies (i.e WebEx, Teams, Zoom), and how each platform can be optimally used in different scenarios

Fluency in English

UI and UX design

Technical QA for learning development (specifically Articulate 360 Suite of products and LMS development for Higher Ed)

Other Information

Work Experience Required: 5 years of experience

Minimum Education Required: College/CEGEP or equivalent experience

Wages from: $59.00 per hour
