Position: Early Childhood Educator
Number of Job Vacancies: 1
Working Hours: 7 hours per day/35hours per week
Wage: $20.00-$26.00 per hour
Job Type: Full-time, Permanent

Island Kids Academy is owned and operated by a group of energetic, educated women who recognize the valuable service that quality child care can provide to families with young children. At Island Kids Academy, our staffs are highly qualified professionals with their license in Early Childhood Education and/or other related training. We offer a 1 to 4 ratio in the infant/toddler rooms and a 1 to 8 ratio in the pre-school rooms. Each program is lead by a dynamic supervisor that works alongside their incredible team ensuring that each child is having a positive, nurturing and enriching experience on a daily basis.
Main duties:
l Design and create learning programs to meet children’s physical, intellectual, social, cultural, creative and emotional needs
l Plan and maintain an environment that protects the health, security and well-being of children
l Maintain and update individual record of children handled taking note of the program’s positive and negative results
l Plan and develop programs and activities suitable for children
l Develop listening, comprehensive skills using approved subjects in storytelling, role playing, games, music and art activities
l Guide and assist children in the development of proper eating, dressing and washroom habits
l Establish and maintain collaborative relationships with colleagues and community service providers working with children
l Regularly communicate with parents and guardians regarding their children’s development needs and learning process
Education & Requirements:
l Completion of post-secondary with at least one to two years program in Early Childhood Education (ECE) and/or relevant education, experience and training
l Current First Aid Certificate and Criminal Record Check required
l Enthusiastic with children
l Well organized
l Excellent and effective communication skills in verbal and written
l Strong work ethic
