Early Childhood Educator

 

The Prince George Knights Society. dba Teeter Tots Early Learning Center in Prince George, BC is looking for a Full-Time, Permanent Early Childhood Educator.

 

Conditions

  • Position: Early Childhood Educator (NOC 4214)
  • Full-time, Permanent Position, 35-40 hours per week (shifted schedule)
  • Hourly Wage: $19.00 – $24.00 per hour (wage to be determined based on experience and skills)  
  • Vacation: 4% of vacation fee or 10 days of paid vacation
  • Benefit: Medical, Group insurance, Life insurance, Vision care (After 90 probationary period)
  • Number of Positions: 1

   Requirements:

  • Previous work experience in child care is an asset
  • Education: College Diploma in early childhood education or Bachelor’s Degree in child development is required
  • Credentials: First Aid Certificate, CPR Certificate, and ECE (Early Childhood Educator) Certificate
  • Criminal Record Check
  • Language: English

 

Job Duties;

  • Develop and implement child-care programs that support and promote the physical, cognitive, emotional and social development of children
  • Guide and assist children in the development of proper eating, dressing and toilet habits
  • Lead activities and engage children by telling or reading stories, teaching songs, demonstrating the use of simple musical instruments, and preparing crafts  
  • Provide opportunities to express creativity through the media of art, dramatic play, music and physical activity
  • Assess the abilities, interests and needs of children and discuss progress or problems with parents, and attend staff meetings to discuss progress and problems of children
  • Observe children for signs of potential learning or behavioural problems and prepare reports for parents, guardians or supervisor
  • Plan and maintain an environment that protects the health, security and well-being of children
  • Establish and maintain collaborative relationships with co-workers and community service providers working with children
