To achieve our mission, we need a Drafting Technician to join our team in the designing and drafting of custom residential and commercial kitchen.  The ideal candidate must have experience in design and construction within the kitchen and cabinetry industry enhanced with a strong knowledge base in CNC based production techniques and understanding of kitchen EXHAUST SYSTEMS and fire suppression systems.

Your duties and responsibilities include:

• Develop and prepare drawings, plans, diagrams or layouts from preliminary concepts, sketches, engineering calculations, specification sheets and other data
• Prepare final cabinet and fixture plans, décor drawings and both standard and site-specific design details for new kitchens, expansions, and renovations to existing kitchens.
• Work with outside suppliers to design products/equipment, which meet the design specification and are capable of cost-effective manufacture.
• Joining technical calls with clients and outside suppliers
• Occasional site visits where major projects are being considered to familiarize oneself with the site condition, limitations and opportunities.
• Identify operational issues and redesign products to improve functionality.
• Assist management team in the interpretation and implementation of specifications and requirements and the procurement and use of AutoCAD files.
• Employ problem-solving strategies and find solutions to product design issues.
• Ensure final designs comply with regulations and quality standards.
• Participate in design meetings as required.
• Write technical reports.
• Prepare contracts and tender documents.
• Prepare manufacturing specifications, costs, and material estimates.

KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS:

• 1 -3 years’ experience with AutoCAD and other industry drafting software
• Experience in custom kitchen and cabinetry design.
• Knowledge in Kitchen Ventilation system including Grease hoods, Make Up Air Units, heat hoods, exhaust fans, supply fans, Ecology unit, Pre-piped Fire Suppression, wall panels and more.
• Creative thinking and problem-solving skills.
• Able to work under pressure and ensure quality and timely completion of projects.
• Ability to work independently and in a team environment.

EDUCATION:

• Diploma in mechanical engineer, engineering design and drafting technology or in a related field
