Overview More Core Diamond Drilling Services Ltd. has been British Columbia’s choice for mineral exploration services since 2006. Our versatile, modular drilling systems and highly experienced crew provide drilling services at projects in the United States and Canada, including underground and surface drilling, track drilling, fly drilling, skid drilling, ice drilling and geotechnical drilling. Our business address is 2511 Highway 37A, British Columbia, Canada, Stewart, V0T 1W0. We are looking to hire several Diamond Drillers. The position is seasonal, 40 hours per week plus overtime. It is based out of Treaty Creek Camp (and other Stewart surroundings areas). Our crew work twelve-hour days, four weeks on and two weeks off. The position pays $570 – $700 per day depending on previous drilling experience. Reporting to our Foremen, the duties of the Diamond Driller are to:

  • Operate Zinex U5 Core Drill to acquire core samples to max depth of 1,000 meters;
  • Supervise Diamond Driller Helpers to oversee the successful packaging, marking, and delivering of core samples;
  • Follow safety protocols and procedures to supervise Diamond Driller Helpers and participate in the breaking down and moving of the drill to each new location by attaching each piece to a helicopter long line;
  • Supervise Diamond Driller Helpers to oversee the constant delivery of high-pressure water by maintaining water pump and water line to the drill;
  • Perform Job Hazzard Analysis and establish risk mitigating protocol routinely and oversee the execution of same;
  • Dismantle drill equipment into flyable loads;
  • Properly safeguard the integrity of the core samples by putting it in properly labelled core boxes as per the customer requirements and stacked in a stable place and secured for transport by helicopter long line;
  • Reassemble drill components, servicing and maintaining hydraulic power packs;
  • Run, install, and maintain water pump and lines;
  • Move equipment to a new site by helicopter long line as per the appropriate Standard Operating Procedure;
  • Complete checklist and inspections; and
  • Report to Foreman.

The requirements of the position are:

  • Previous experience as a diamond core driller;
  • Experience drilling in tough ground conditions; and
  • Helicopter Experience an asset;

Additional pay:

  • Bonus pay
