Westview Dairy Farms Ltd is a family-owned dairy farm which has been operating since 1988. Our over 300 acres of farmland is situated in Matsqui Flats in Abbotsford, BC. Our farm includes over 200 milking stock, youngstock and dry stock. We are looking for dedicated, hard working, punctual, willing to learn individuals who are good with animals to work as a Dairy Farm Worker (NOC-8431/85100).

This can be a year or two years contract-based job. If moving from another place, we can provide accommodation at fully inspected house at our farm. This job is full time, permanent (all season). Below are the job duties:

• Milk, feed, bed and tend livestock
• Perform or assist in performing breeding and calving activities of farm animals
• Operate and maintain farm machinery and equipment
• Follow food safety and security and animal bio-security procedures
• Detect disease and health problems in livestock
• Ensure quality milk for market by inspecting, cleaning and maintaining dairy equipment
• Set and monitor water lines, air flow and temperature in barns
• Maintain or assist in the maintenance of facilities and farm infrastructure including cleaning barns
• General farm workers will perform other general labour duties related to the farm
• Tractor handling skills would be preferred but on the job training is available
• Treat or assist with treatment of sick animals. Appropriate training will be provided

Job is full time 35-40 hours per week.

Wage: 21.00 per hour

No educational requirement, one-year experience in dairy farming preferred (on job training will be provided)

Basic Medical coverage until enrolled into Provincial medical plan  and independent housing will be provided. Employer is willing to pay for moving cost

Job will be outdoors, long time standing, sitting and physical demanding, hot and cold will be part of the job

Appropriate workwear will be provided if needed
