Location:  451 Windmill Road, Dartmouth, Nova Scotia, B3A 1J9

Cuisine:  Cantonese & Szechuan

Job duties:

–     Season and cook food according to recipes or personal judgment and experience

–     Observe and test foods to determine if they have been cooked sufficiently

–     Weigh, measure, and mix ingredients

–     Prepare cooking materials and sauces

–     Inspect food preparation to ensure observance of safe, sanitary food-handling practices

–     Estimate expected food consumption

–     Coordinate work of kitchen staff

–     Consult with employer to plan menus, taking into consideration factors such as costs

Job Requirements:

–  high school graduated or equivalent

–  Minimum 2 years of work experience in Chinese cuisine cooking

–  Basic Englsih

–  Reliable, flexible and hard-working

–  Keen sense of taste and smell

–  Excellent hand-eye coordination

–  Excellent communication skills, interpersonal skills and team-building skills

–  Ability to remain calm in hectic circumstances

Work Hours:                    

–  40 to 48 hours per week / on shifts

Salary and Benefits:       

–  $15 to $19 per hour; overtime paid after 48 hours

–  Meals provided while on shifts
