We are looking for Cooks to work at 140 Cambridge Glen Drive, Strathmore, AB T1P 0E2, Canada, and various client locations within the region.

JOB DUTIES:

• Essential functions and responsibilities of the position may vary by Aramark location based on client requirements and business needs.      
• Cook and prepare a variety of food according to production guidelines and standardized recipes.
• Set up a workstation with all the needed ingredients and equipment. 
• Prepare ingredients by measuring, weighing, mixing, chopping, trimming, and peeling food items.
• Safely use a variety of utensils, including knives.
• Operates equipment such as ovens, stoves, slicers, mixers, etc. 
• Bake, roast, broil, steam and use a variety of cooking methods for meat, vegetables, and other foods. 
• Arrange, garnishe, and portion of food according to established guidelines.
• Properly stores food by adhering to food safety policies and procedures. 
• Clean and sanitize work areas, equipment, and utensils.
• Maintain excellent customer service and positive demeanour towards guests, customers, clients, co-workers, etc. 
• Adhere to Aramark safety policies and procedures, including accurate food safety and sanitation.
• Ensure the security of company assets.

Prerequisites:

Education: No Formal education is required 

Experience & Skills:

• 1 year to less than 2 years of experience 
• Experience as a cook or in a related role is required
• Validated knowledge of the basic principles of food preparation, various cooking methods, and food safety regulations such as accurate food handling, sanitation, and storage
• Must be able to acquire food safety certification
• Demonstrate basic math and counting skills
• Demonstrates interpersonal communication skills, both written and verbal

Language: English

This role may have physical demands including, but not limited to, lifting, bending, pushing, pulling and/or extended walking and standing. This role may also require uniforms and/or usage of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).

Hourly Rate: $17.00 to $22.00 per Hour for 30 to 40 Hours per week

Starting Date: As soon as possible

Terms of Employment: Fulltime and permanent
