Position:                                Cook

Wage:                                    $18.00 / hr

Schedule:                              40 hrs / week

Location:                               2133-4500 Kingsway

Vacation:                              2 weeks or 4%

Job Requirements

– Completion of secondary school

– Completion of cooking program or two or more years of commercial cook experience

– Experience in Chinese cuisine is an asset

– Extra experience is an asset

Job Duties

– Prepare and cook complete meals or individual dishes and foods according to pre-set menu

– Based on orders received, prepare, handle, clean, cut, marinate, and cook the right quantity of foods

– Ensure recipes, ingredient specifications, quantity, quality, and cooking times are followed

– Assist with menu development and tasting new dishes

– Ensure that food is properly stored and handled at all times

– Schedule and supervise kitchen helpers

– Oversee kitchen operations

– Maintain inventory and records of food, supplies and equipment

– Clean kitchen and work area

– Estimate food requirements, costs, monitor and order supplies
