Salary: $16.00 per hour

Job Summary: Banjara Indian Cuisine is looking for qualified cooks who would be responsible for preparing, producing, and cooking cuisine in a fast-paced working environment using authentic and traditional ingredients and techniques. The right candidate will provide hands-on culinary skill to deliver high quality food and service to our customers.

Job Responsibilities:

• Prepare and cook cuisine (appetizers, main courses, etc.) by following restaurant recipes;
• Practice portion control to prepare, garnish and present ordered items;
• Work with ingredients such as meats, vegetables, and rice and use specialty cooking equipment; 
• Adapt dishes for customers with specialty diets, allergies, and intolerances;
• Work as a team to prepare orders within a timely manner;
• Follow restaurant presentation guidelines and recipes to ensure a high quality of food preparation and service is maintained;
• Requisition and stock all required food items and condiments;
• Ensure proper food handling procedures are followed during the cooking process and that all food products are safely stored;
• Assist in the maintenance of a clean and organized kitchen and food storage areas according to health and safety regulations; and
• Other duties as required.

Minimum Skills Requirements:

• No formal education required;
• One (1) to Two (2) years of prior work experience as a cook or chef is required;
• Knowledge of and experiencing in preparing and cooking Indian cuisine is preferred;
• Must be dependable, reliable, and capable of working in a fast-paced environment;
• Must have a professional attitude and strong interpersonal and communication skills.
