Position Summary – Continuing Care Assistant
Wage: 19.23 CAD/Hourly
Hours: Full-time, guaranteed 30+ hours a week.
Work Location: Seeley’s Bay, Ontario
Responsibilities may include total resident care: bathing, dressing, communication, total documentation, assessment, and providing additional and related services as assigned. The CCA provides in accordance with the individual care plan of the client and performs the following duties as required:
- Answer call signals and respond to requests for assistance
- Empty, clean and supply bed pans as needed
- Take medical measurements such as blood pressure. Temperature, and pulse.
- Bathe, dress, and groom patients following established procedures
- Serve and feed patients as required, ensuring their comfort and well-being
- Weigh, lift, turn, and position patients safely and efficiently
- Providing personal care and assistance with hygiene, shaving and grooming.
- Set up and supervise exercise routines, promote patients’ physical rehabilitation and overall health
- Provide companionship, leisure activities, and social interaction to support patients’ emotional well-being
- Take patients’ vital signs, including blood pressure, temperature, and pulse, and record the results
- Observe and document patients’ status, including fluid intake, output, and other critical parameters
- Collect and document urinary, fecal, and other specimen samples, as required
- Assist with and perform routine maintenance tasks, including inventory management, equipment cleaning and sterilization, and basic repairs and adjustments to equipment.
- Ensure patients’ rooms are clean and well-organized for their comfort and safety, including making beds and maintaining the supply of necessary items such as pillows, blankets, and bedding.
- Follow all relevant and required precautions, including proper sterile technique, while performing any of the specified tasks.
Your Qualifications:
- You must be fluent in English.
- You must have at least 1 year of experience in this role or equivalent role.
- You must have completed secondary school and be able to prove it.
- You must be willing to relocate to Seeley’s Bay.
- You must have excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- You must be able to work well in teams and individually.
- Any experience and working with older people and their families together is a huge asset.
- Any experience with music, or passion about music, is a huge asset.
