Job requirements
Languages: English
Education: Secondary (high) school graduation certificate
Experience: 1 to less than 7 months in the related field or training
Security and Safety: Reference required
Transportation/Travel Information: Travel expenses paid by employer, Willing to travel regularly, Vehicle supplied by employer, Public transportation is available, Valid driver’s licence
Work Conditions and Physical Capabilities: Repetitive tasks
Work Location Information: Work in employer’s/client’s home
Personal Suitability: Initiative, Organized, Judgement, Flexibility, Reliability, Team player, Effective interpersonal skills, Client focus
Additional Skills: Assume full responsibility for household in absence of parents, Perform light housekeeping and cleaning duties, Travel with family on trips and assist with child supervision and housekeeping duties
Children’s Ages: Over 12 years, School age (6 – 12 years), 4 years
Work Setting: Employer’s home, Optional accommodation available at no charge on a live-in basis. Note: This is NOT a condition of employment
Credentials (certificates, licences, memberships, courses, etc.): First Aid Certificate, CPR Certificate
Specific Skills
• Bathe, dress and feed children,
• Discipline children according to the methods requested by the parents,
• Maintain a safe and healthy environment in the home,
• Take children to and from school and to appointments,
• Tend to emotional well-being of children,
• Instruct children in personal hygiene and social development,
• Organize, activities such as games and outings for children,
• Prepare and serve nutritious meals,
• Supervise and care for children
