Job requirements

Languages: French

Kirundi speaking is an asset but not a requirement

Education: Secondary (high) school graduation certificate

Experience: 1 year to less than 2 years in the related field or training

Security and Safety: Reference required

Work Conditions and Physical Capabilities: Repetitive tasks

Personal Suitability: Initiative, Organized, Judgement, Flexibility, Reliability, Team player, Effective interpersonal skills, Client focus

Children's Ages: 4 years

Work Setting: Employer's home, Optional accommodation available at no charge on a live-in basis. Note: This is NOT a condition of employment

Credentials (certificates, licences, memberships, courses, etc.): First Aid Certificate, CPR Certificate

Specific Skills

Discipline child according to the methods requested by the parents,
Prepare child for rest periods,
Keep records of daily activities and health information regarding child,
Maintain a safe and healthy environment in the home,
Take child to and from school and to appointments,
Tend to emotional well-being of child,
Instruct child in personal hygiene and social development,
Organize, activities such as games and outings for child,
Prepare and serve nutritious meals,
Supervise and care for child.
Help children with homework, practice French
Additional Skills: Assume full responsibility for household in absence of parents
