Hours: 32 – 60 hours per week

Salary: $20.00 per hour

Benefits: Kitchen tips are 3.5% of total sales

Cattail Crossing Golf & Winter Club features a beautiful 10,000 square foot clubhouse with virtual golf, dining areas, pro shop, snack bar, and kids club to accommodate the many needs of club members and guests.

 

The club offers a variety of golf services including night golf, aqua range, tournaments, events, corporate

meeting venue, private parties, winter activities, weddings and more! The Cattail Crossing Golf and Winter Club is seeking an enthusiastic and energetic individual to join our team.

 

Reporting to the Head Chef, expectations, responsibilities, and essential job functions include but are not limited to the following:

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Maintain records of food costs, consumption, sales and inventory
  • Analyze operating costs and other data
  • Requisition food and kitchen supplies
  • Prepare and cook food on a regular basis, or for special guests or functions
  • Prepare dishes for customers with food allergies or intolerances
  • Prepare and cook meals or specialty foods
  • Train staff in preparation, cooking and handling of food
  • Plan menus and ensure food meets quality standards
  • Estimate food requirements and food and labour costs
  • Plan and direct food preparation and cooking activities of several restaurants
  • Consult with clients regarding weddings, banquets and specialty functions
  • Demonstrate new cooking techniques and new equipment to cooking staff
  • Instruct cooks in preparation, cooking, garnishing and presentation of food
  • Prepare and cook complete meals and specialty foods for events such as banquets
  • Create new recipes
  • Comply with all health and safety standards and practices as set forth by Alberta Health Services and OH&S
  • Work in a team atmosphere to accomplish the goals
  • Regular communication with the Head Chef and Front of House to ensure effective and efficient quality of product and service
  • Maintain a friendly and professional demeanor with all staff and guests
  • Assist with kitchen staff to ensure quality, speed and consistency of food
  • Lead by example and ensure protocols, policies, and procedures are followed
  • In coordination with the Head Chef, manage inventory, food orders, and ensure cost effective food preparation
  • Complete all required paperwork, including forms, reports and schedules in an organized and timely manner
  • Schedule manpower in the kitchen with the Head Chef and Restaurant Manager as required by anticipated business activity while ensuring that all positions are staffed
  • Follow budgetary plans to ensure cost objectives are maintained

 

Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 3 years experience as a chef
  • Cook Trade Certification
  • Experience creating seasonal, fresh and innovative menus
  • Extensive food knowledge and preparation
  • Maintain the sanitization and cleanliness of the food preparation area
  • Strong interpersonal, leadership and team skills
  • Ability to remain calm in stressful situations
  • Strong administration and organizational skills
  • Physical capability for frequent heavy lifting
  • Must be able to work in a standing position for long periods of time (up to 9 hours)
  • Red Seal and Food Safe Certificaiton is an asset
  • Reliable transportation is required as there is no public transportation to our location
  • Ability to work shifts – days, evenings, weekends and holidays
  • Some overtime may be required
