We are looking for experienced Chefs for The Daily Seafood Inc located at 135 Blake St Toronto ON M4J 3E2 Canada.

JOB DUTIES:

  • Provide hands-on guidance and training to junior kitchen staff in seafood preparation, innovative cooking techniques, and sophisticated plating styles, ensuring every dish reflects Daily Seafood’s commitment to quality.

  • Implement and manage a meticulous first-in, first-out system for seafood and other ingredients to guarantee optimal freshness and reduce waste, ensuring compliance with health and safety regulations.

  • Verify that all seafood and food products are accurately labelled, dated, and stored in temperature-controlled environments, upholding the highest food safety standards.

  • Ensure all cooking stations are prepped and stocked with Daily Seafood’s premium ingredients, enabling smooth service during high-demand periods while maintaining superior quality.

  • Recruit, train, and mentor new kitchen staff, fostering expertise in seafood handling and preparation to uphold the excellence Daily Seafood is known for.

  • Oversee procurement of seafood and kitchen supplies, collaborating with trusted suppliers to align with sustainability goals, reduce waste, and adhere to budgetary requirements.

  • Supervise all aspects of food preparation and presentation, ensuring each plate meets the elevated standards of Daily Seafood’s fresh and curated menu offerings.

  • Conduct regular inspections of seafood storage units and kitchen facilities, ensuring freshness, cleanliness, and compliance with food safety guidelines.

  • Develop and update a comprehensive recipe library to standardize preparation methods, preserving the consistency and authenticity of Daily Seafood’s signature dishes.

Prerequisites:

Education: Secondary school or equivalent

Experience & Skills:               2 years to less than 3 years of experience in the food industry 

Language: English

 

Annual Salary: $53,200 to $57,000 for 30 to 40 Hours per week

Starting Date: As soon as possible

Terms of Employment: Fulltime and permanent

Benefits: 4 % Vacation Pay
