Serano Greek Pastry is a family-owned bakery that specializes in Greek pastries, breads, deserts. Our bakery has served clients across Vancouver for over two decades from our retail bakeshop in Kitsilano.  We are looking for a baker or pastry chef with professional training in pastry and two years of relevant work experience, a team player who will oversee our tradition of producing high quality products. The ideal person will have managerial experience to assist the owners/managers with supervising baking operations. 

Languages

Must be able to communicate effectively in English (verbal and written)

Required Education

Must have minimum of high school education AND post-secondary diploma or certificate (minimum 1 year program) with specialization in pastry making.

Required Experience

– minimum 2 years of baking experience

– minimum 2 years of supervisory experience

Food Specialties

Our Bakery specializes in Greek breads, pastries, cookies, pies, traditional cakes, donuts and Greek baklava

Duties:

Prepare most popular Greek breads and pastries, pies, cakes, muffins, and cookies.

Bake mixed dough and batters, frostings and icing

Prepare special cake orders and decorate cakes and baked goods

Oversee high quality of products

Supervise the work of junior baking staff

Assist general manager in inventory control, including tracking usage and ordering supplies
