Along with our fresh grocery selection and hot foods kitchen, we also provide an excellent catering service. We are now seeking a Baker to join our Woodbridge supermarket team, who will prepare and create a wide variety of Western and Asian baked goods.

Salary: $16.50 per hour
Job Type: Full-Time (37.5 hours per week), Permanent
Vacation: 10 business days (2 weeks) of paid vacation per calendar year
· Create a wide variety of both Western and traditional Asian baked goods and pastries, such as bread, cookies, steamed buns, tarts, dim sum shells, and more;
· Prepare and decorate fresh pastries, cakes, and assorted desserts;
· Execute new and innovative bakery recipes that align with both traditional flavors and modern trends;
· Handle special requests and orders, ensuring customer requirements are understood and met;
· Package and label bakery goods accurately;
· Operate bakery equipment including commercial ovens, steamers, mixers, proofing cabinets, kitchen scales, and various tools, appliances, and utensils;
· Ensure the highest standards of food quality, taste, and presentation are consistently met;
· Collaborate with our culinary team to plan and prepare items for seasonal promotions and special events;
· Maintain a clean and organized bakery workspace, follow all food safety and sanitation guidelines;
· Monitor inventory levels, assist with ordering ingredients, and manage wastage effectively;
· Ensure sufficient levels of bakery goods, set baking schedules and amounts to optimize freshness and availability.
· Secondary school diploma or higher;
· Minimum of half a year of professional baking experience;
· Available to work rotating early morning and afternoon shifts;
· Experienced in baking a wide variety of Western and Asian bakery goods, including pineapple buns, milk and egg breads, rolls, egg and fruit tarts, steamed buns, cakes, croissants, turnovers, cookies and crackers, pastries, and swiss rolls;
· Capable of using and operating professional bakery equipment and tools, including commercial ovens, mixers, scales, proofing cabinets, drying racks, and piping and decorating tools;
· Strong multitasking and time management skills, capable of setting and adhering to baking schedules to ensure product freshness and availability;
· Excellent attention to detail;
· Familiar with working in a fast-paced professional bakery environment and able to work in a standing position for long periods.
