Responsibilities
Tasks
1. Adjust, repair or replace parts and components of commercial transport truck systems
2. Confirm findings with supervisor to determine whether to repair or replace unit
3. Discuss work with supervisor
4. Inspect and test mechanical units to locate faults and malfunctions
5. Inspect mechanical units to locate faults and malfunctions
6. Inspect motor in operation
7. Review work orders
8. Road test motor vehicles
9. Test automotive systems and components
10. Adjust, repair or replace parts and components of automotive systems
11. Adjust, repair or replace parts and components of truck-trailer systems
12. Repair or replace mechanical units or components
13. Test and adjust repaired systems to manufacturer's specifications
14. Estimate parts and labour cost to perform vehicle maintenance and repairs
15. Perform scheduled maintenance service
16. Test and adjust units to specifications
17. Advise customers on work performed and future repair requirements
18. Complete reports to record problems and work performed
19. Coach and instruct apprentices
20. Provide customer service
