Salary: $19.25 to $19.50 / hour (To be negotiated)
Vacancies: 1
Terms of employment: Permanent, Full time; 40 to 44 hours / week
Start date: As soon as possible

Languages: English
Education: Secondary (high) school graduation certificate or equivalent experience
Experience: 1 year to less than 2 years:
Security and Safety: Criminal record check
Transportation/Travel Information: Public transportation is available
Work Conditions and Physical Capabilities: work under pressure; combination of sitting, standing, walking; physically demanding; overtime required; repetitive tasks
Work Location Information: Work in employer’s/client’s home
Work Site Environment: Non-smoking

Experience with Special Needs Adults
Assistance with mobility
Specific Skills
• Administer bedside and personal care
• Assist clients in water (i.e. pool)
• Assist in regular exercise, e.g., walk
• Assume full responsibility for household (in absence of householder)
• Feed or assist in feeding
• Provide personal care
• Provide companionship
• Perform light housekeeping and cleaning duties
• Assist clients with bathing and other aspects of personal hygiene
• Prepare and serve nutritious meals
• Accompany client in her day-time social activities (i.e. going to the mall, public library and other events using public transportation)
• Overnight care for client (who has sleeping issues) on an as-needed basis (in the absence of employers)
Target Audience: Person with a disability; female; adult
Weight Handling: Up to 9 kg (20 lbs)
Work Setting: Optional accommodation available at no charge on a live-in basis. Note: This is NOT a condition of employment
Credentials (certificates, licences, memberships, courses, etc.): CPR Certificate, First Aid Certificate
