Minimum Education: Completion of High School is required.

Ferndale Transport Ltd is seeking a high-functioning, reliable and self-motivated individual to fulfill the role of Dispatch Logistician. Be part of a successful company dedicated to achieving transportation, warehousing and logistics excellence.
Job duties include:
- Establish work schedules, procedures and coordinate activities with drivers, shipping, receiving and accounting
- Scheduling and proactively dispatching/supervising a fleet of drivers (local/line haul/owner operators), trucks and trailers by coordinating with other dispatchers
- Utilize company software and programs to dispatch trucks and update equipment status on internal systems
- Assign drivers and trucks, and design routes
- Direct the pickup and delivery activities
- Receive customer requests for the pickup and delivery of freight and consolidate freight orders into truckloads for specific destinations
- Professionally communicate between customers, drivers and dock workers to ensure delivery appointments are kept and are according to client specifications
- Prepare and submit progress and other reports
- Train workers in job duties, safety procedures and company policies
- Ensure smooth operation of computer systems, equipment and machinery and arrange for maintenance and repair work
- Handle multiple calls and methods of communication including email, text messaging and in person
Job skills:
- Previous Dispatch experience in the trucking industry will be an asset
- Working knowledge of office equipment, like printers, scanners and fax machines
- Tech-savvy with dedicated logistics software
- Excellent time management skills and ability to prioritize work
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Strong attention to detail, with the ability to learn new tasks quickly
