Job Brief:
Ferndale Transport is seeking a highly efficient, dedicated and safety-driven truck driver to join our team. We are looking for experienced Class-1 Truck Driver with air-brake endorsement and standard/manual transmission. With steady year-round local work. We are not looking for owner operators. We own our trucks and preform regular maintenance. We also will hire people who have open work permits with the right experience. Experience with transporting dangerous goods, oversize, and heavy loads will be an asset.
Job Duties:
- Address customers' complaints or concerns
- Pre-Trip and Post-Trip of the Truck and Trailers
- Must possess a valid Class 1 license with Air-Brake Endorsement and Clean Drivers Abstract
- A mixture of highway and inner-city driving
- Ability to adapt to changing conditions, and find new routes when needed
- Correctly loading and unloading 53ft trailers
- Ability to chain up in the winter
- Communicating with Dispatch via cell phone
- Cleanliness of truck and trailer
- Experience with highway mountain driving in winter conditions an asset
- Record cargo information, hours of service, distance travelled and fuel consumption.
- Tarping and ensuring safety and security of cargo.
Job requirements:
- Language: English
- Education: Completion of Secondary (high) school graduation certificate.
- Experience: will train
- Driver's License (Class 1 or A), Air-brake endorsement and Manual transmission
